🏞 About the Role:
As Assistant Lodge Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in day-to-day lodge operations, ensuring guests experience the highest level of service, comfort, and connection to the surrounding environment. Supporting the Lodge General Manager, you’ll lead a close-knit, passionate team and help shape unforgettable ‘bucket-list’ experiences for every visitor.

From managing staff and guiding tours, to ensuring top-notch hospitality and championing conservation efforts – no two days will be the same. This is an ideal opportunity for a driven hospitality professional who thrives in a hands-on, nature-connected environment.

💼 What’s on Offer:

  • Competitive salary: $70,000 – 80,000 (negotiable based on experience)
  • Free self-contained accommodation + duty meals

🌟 Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a high-performing lodge team across all departments
  • Deliver a warm, high-quality guest experience from check-in to departure
  • Ensure smooth daily operations, including food & beverage, housekeeping, and guest services
  • Oversee stock control, maintenance, safety, and lodge standards
  • Host and guide guest tours and activities
  • Assist in recruitment, staff training, and performance management
  • Provide crucial support to the General Manager with administration, planning, and reporting
  • Act as On-Call Manager during GM absence
  • Work closely with the Conservation and Sustainability teams to support 4Cs initiatives

🙌 What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong background in hospitality, tourism, or lodge management
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for nature, guest service, and authentic experiences
  • High level of organisation, adaptability, and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working remotely and in a small, close-knit team

✅ Required Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s licence (own vehicle desirable)
  • First Aid and CPR (HLTAID011 & HLTAID009)
  • RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol)
  • National Police Clearance
  • Willingness to obtain SA Driver Accreditation
  • MR Licence – desirable
