  • Came to Australia on a working holiday visa which is great if you want to work and travel but hard if you are in a city looking for work due to the 6 month restriction so came across Katrina and MLKA who recruits for remote locations in hospitality and I have to admit its the best thing I ever did. You get to live and work in places where people pass through or just go on holiday. Katrina is amazing and to the point and would recommend anyone looking for work in Hospitality whether its taking a gap year after uni or just life and wanting to see down under whilst working. The beauty with the MLKA is you can do 6 to 12 months in workplaces so it works perfect for the working holiday visa if you want to do a season somewhere then do some more travelling also you save a lot. Just be upfront with what you are looking for and they will come back with options to choose from and theres no pressure. They are very supportive, communicate quick and advise well. Overall very happy with MLKA and Katrina! �

  • I saw MLKA through someone elses facebook page and was interested by the work and travel philosophy. All jobs emailed were very attractive and you are "screened thoroughly" but for a good reason. I was handled by Jim throughout and he was VERY helpful, he answered questions, returned calls, even made sure everything was fine after I settled into the job.   • Myself and my girlfriend were placed in the Crocodile Holiday Inn in Jabiru Northern Territory. Our consultant was Julie Young. My role was as night manager and my girlfriends was as food and beverage attendant. The best parts of the remote location role were the scenery, the culture trips, the lack of traffic and getting to see all the wildlife every day. Saving a lot of money was probably the best part of it though. Julies service was exceptional from start to finish, very professional, informative and was liaising with us all the time from interview to decision stage keeping us informed and updated on the progress of the application.   • Hi guys I spent almost 3 months working in Longreach north west queensland,my position was as an all rounder and it involved housekeeping in the morning and waitressing in the evening. I was placed in this job by Jim and i honestly could not have been luckier, the owners and fellow staff welcomed me from day 1 and i really enjoyed working alongside them. I met real "strayans" complete with cowboy hats and their utes and had such a laugh once we managed to understand each other! The sunsets were beautiful, loved exploring the rugged countryside+the Qantas museum where I walked on the wing of a Boeing 747!(only place in the world you can do this) its also easy to save money when you have nothing To spend it on! I have made new friends for life and am so grateful to MLKA for helping me,you guys are awesome!

  • I was recruited by Jim McDougall over a year and a half ago for a breakfast cook position in Port Hedland. He was very clear and concise and has continued to keep in contact with me, a real pleasure to liaise with. Not long after commencing I had the offer of completing my apprenticeship which was probably the best thing about the remote world-they help you improve your skills set.   • I was placed in a remote roadhouse in WA over 2 years ago. I stayed for 2.5 years. Jim was my consultant. I was employed as an all-rounder which involved cooking, cleaning and counter duties. I loved being in the outback, meeting new people, the regulars and having no bills or phone reception were definately highlights for me. It was great getting away from the hustle and bustle of the Gold Coast and seeing a different part of Australia. It was fast paced and busy which made time fly like nothing else. All staff we have employed from using MLKA have been reference checked and had the advantages and disadvantages of working in a remote area explained to them. We find by using MLKA to source all of our staff from casual backpackers to senior management positions saves us on advertising which is all time and money.
