Bring your professional housekeeping experience, strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards to a unique remote coastal destination in Far North Queensland.
We’re looking for reliable and self-motivated housekeepers who enjoy working independently, take ownership of their work and understand the importance of creating a clean, comfortable and welcoming environment for guests.
With a beautiful tropical setting, rich local culture and history, and an abundance of natural beauty, this is a varied housekeeping role where no two days are quite the same.
The property features motel-style accommodation, beautifully maintained gardens, a separate pool area, restaurant and bar facilities, and conference spaces.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of guest accommodation, public areas and surrounding facilities, while ensuring guests receive a friendly and courteous welcome.
Key responsibilities include:
- Cleaning and servicing motel rooms to a high standard
- Making beds and thoroughly cleaning bathrooms
- Cleaning and maintaining common and public areas
- Cleaning restaurant areas, including sweeping and mopping
- Window cleaning and general presentation duties
- Spring cleaning and detailed periodic cleaning
- Watering and maintaining garden areas
- Keeping areas surrounding the accommodation block clean and tidy
- Weekly cleaning of an offsite contractor’s house
- Laundry duties
- Assisting guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Identifying areas requiring attention and taking initiative to address them
- Other housekeeping and general duties as required
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for people who genuinely care about the quality and presentation of the accommodation they provide.
You’ll Ideally Have:
- Previous housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- A strong work ethic and reliable approach
- The ability to work independently and manage your workload
- Initiative and a willingness to take ownership of the role
- Pride in maintaining clean, comfortable and well-presented accommodation
- A friendly and courteous manner when interacting with guests
- Flexibility to assist with a range of general duties
- A current driver’s licence is preferred, but not essential
Pay and Conditions
Full-time – Level 3 Award, including annual leave
- Monday–Friday: $27.97 per hour
- Saturday: $34.96 per hour
- Sunday: $41.96 per hour
- Accommodation: $140 per week, including utilities
- Own room in a shared staff house located off site
- 5 duty meals per week
- Flight provided from Cairns
