Hospitality All-Rounder – Outback Queensland
Are you an experienced hospitality all-rounder who enjoys variety, early starts and being hands-on across multiple areas of a busy venue?
This Outback Queensland opportunity is ideal for someone with strong customer service, barista, administration and hospitality skills, who is equally comfortable working front of house, behind the scenes, in housekeeping and assisting with kitchen duties. With access via bus from Mackay, it’s a great opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional looking for a diverse role and a chance to experience regional Queensland.
This is a single position and is not suitable for couples.
The venue provides comfortable guest accommodation, conveniently located close to shopping and essential services, making it a practical base for exploring and working in the region.
💼 The Package
- Casual position
- $33.85 per hour Monday–Friday
- Weekend and after 7.00pm penalty rates apply
- Accommodation + Wi-Fi: $150 per week
- Shared kitchen and amenities

⭐ About the Role
This is a genuine all-rounder position, so flexibility is key. You’ll move between front and back of house and help wherever needed to keep the venue operating smoothly.
Your duties may include:
- General administration and office duties
- Barista service
- Providing friendly, efficient customer service
- Taking meal orders and processing payments
- Running meals and clearing and cleaning tables
- RSA-required bar and restaurant duties
- EFTPOS and till operation
- Managing the restaurant’s online booking system
- General cleaning across restaurant, kitchen and administration areas
- Guest room housekeeping
- General maintenance and upkeep
- Basic food preparation, including sandwiches and wraps for lunch packs
- Kitchen hand duties and general kitchen assistance
- Working split shifts across breakfast and dinner service when required
👀 We’re Looking For
The successful candidate will be a versatile and experienced hospitality professional who is happy to get involved across all areas of the operation.
You’ll need:
- Previous barista experience
- Previous hospitality experience across multiple areas
- Strong customer service skills
- Basic computer and administration skills, including confidence using tills and booking systems
- A current RSA, or the ability to obtain one before commencing
- A Food Handlers Certificate, or the ability to obtain one before commencing
- Good written and verbal English
- Confidence working independently and as part of a team
- A flexible, hands-on attitude and willingness to assist wherever required
- The ability to work early mornings, including 4.30am starts
- Flexibility to work split shifts and across breakfast and dinner service
- A willingness to undertake housekeeping, kitchen, restaurant, administration and general duties as needed
This role would suit someone who genuinely enjoys variety and is happy to roll up their sleeves and contribute across the entire venue.

Outback Queensland
The venue is accessible by bus from Mackay, making this a practical option for candidates travelling without their own vehicle.
