The Opportunity
We’re seeking a highly capable and hands-on Maintenance / Yardie / All-Rounder to join a busy, multi-faceted venue in coastal Far North Queensland. This is a role for someone who brings strong, proven experience across maintenance, grounds, and general operations — and can confidently take ownership of tasks without supervision.
You’ll be working across a diverse site that includes a public bar, restaurant, gaming area, and detached bottleshop, supporting a team of 20–30 staff who live and work on-site.
Package
- Casual Role – HIGA Level 3
- $32.25 per hour (Mon–Fri)
- $38.70 per hour (Sat)
- $45.15 per hour (Sun)
- Accommodation: $78 per week
- Evening meal provided daily
- Own room (donga-style), shared bathroom
- Staff kitchen available on-site
Key Responsibilities
This is a varied, physically active role requiring strong practical skills and initiative. Duties include:
- General building maintenance (painting, plastering, minor repairs, changing locks, basic plumbing, air-conditioning troubleshooting, etc.)
- Groundskeeping and landscaping
- Loading and unloading stock
- Stock control, including restocking fridges and shelves
- Maintaining cleanliness of the drive-in and yard areas
- Setting up and maintaining stock displays
- Supporting day-to-day operational needs across the site
- Completing all tasks safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
About You
To succeed in this role, you must bring demonstrated, hands-on experience across maintenance and general site operations. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, practical, and takes pride in their work.
You will have:
- Strong, proven experience in general maintenance and repair work
- The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
- A proactive approach with solid problem-solving skills
- Good communication and customer service abilities
- A stable employment history
- Confidence completing paperwork accurately
- Physical fitness and strength (heavy lifting is required)
- A current Driver’s Licence (essential)
- A Forklift Licence (highly regarded)
