Assistant Manager – Outback South Australia
Bring your proven remote-area experience to a unique, all-in-one venue in Outback South Australia.
This is a hands-on Assistant Manager position supporting the site managers in the overall operation of the site, covering managers days off, opens and closes and working full shifts across all departments. Flexibility is key—you’ll move between areas as needed, from front-of-house to back-of-house and everything in between.
This role will suit a candidate with previous hospitality experience who enjoys day to day variety in their role.
This well-established venue offers accommodation, fuel, bar, restaurant, retail shop, and caravan park facilities—all in one location. With supportive onsite management and a collaborative team environment, it’s an excellent role for someone looking to save money while living and working regionally.
Immediate Start
Package (Casual Role):
• $37.24 per hour (Mon–Fri)
• $47.96 per hour (Sat–Sun)
• Free accommodation and meals
• Private room with ensuite
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with the day-to-day management of all departments including bar, accommodation, fuel, restaurant, housekeeping, and grounds
• Oversee stock control, merchandising, stocktakes, pricing, and replenishment
• Manage cash handling processes including till balancing, floats, and banking
• Complete general administration and invoice processing
• Monitor fuel operations including dips, ordering, and safety compliance
• Support staff supervision and training
• Provide excellent customer service across bar, retail, and café operations
• Ensure compliance with liquor licensing regulations
• Step into full site management during managers’ days off and leave periods
• Contribute wherever needed as part of a small, team-focused environment
About You:
• Previous experience working in remote locations is essential
• Background in similar high-volume, multi-service hospitality venues
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Hold (or be able to obtain) a South Australian Responsible Persons Badge
• Current RSA and Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Able to secure a National Police Check prior to commencement
• Committed to a minimum 12-month tenure
