MLKA Hospitality Recruitment is seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join a busy hospitality venue located in a stunning coastal location in Far North Queensland.
Positioned right on the water and renowned as one of the region’s great fishing destinations, this is an outstanding opportunity for a hospitality professional who enjoys working with fresh produce, delivering quality meals, and being part of a fast-paced kitchen team. Catering to a diverse mix of locals, tourists, corporate travellers and fishing enthusiasts, this role offers plenty of variety and the chance to further develop your culinary skills in a highly regarded venue.
The property features motel accommodation, a popular public bar, restaurant, function facilities and onsite bottle shop, creating a dynamic hospitality environment where no two days are ever the same.
💰 Package & Benefits
Casual Rates (Based on Experience & Qualifications)
✔ $35.15 per hour Monday–Friday
✔ $42.18 per hour Saturday
✔ $49.21 per hour Sunday
✔ $56.24 per hour Overtime
✔ $66.69 per hour Public Holidays
Accommodation
✔ Own private room provided
✔ Accommodation & evening meal package only $78 per week
👨🍳 The Role
Working within a busy kitchen operation, you will assist in delivering quality meals while maintaining high food safety and presentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Preparing, cooking and presenting a variety of dishes using fresh, frozen and prepared ingredients
• Assisting with seasonal menu updates and specials
• Maintaining stock rotation and minimising wastage
• Ensuring kitchen cleanliness and organisation at all times
• Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards
• Assisting with equipment maintenance and safe operation practices
• Working collaboratively within a close-knit kitchen team
• Supporting management with additional kitchen duties as required

• Qualified Chef or candidates with strong commercial cooking experience
• Previous experience in busy hospitality venues
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Team-focused attitude and excellent communication skills
• Experience in regional, coastal or remote hospitality environments highly regarded
• Passion for quality food and consistent service delivery
