An excellent opportunity is available for a reliable and experienced Warehouse / Stores Person to join a busy retail and supply operation in Remote Coastal Northern Territory.
We are seeking a highly organised and hands-on candidate with previous warehouse, logistics, retail, stores, or stock management experience. The successful applicant will have strong communication skills, a practical approach to their work, and the ability to work independently while supporting a small team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly, and is looking for the opportunity to establish themselves in a long-term role within a remote community.
Located in a vibrant coastal community, the town offers supermarkets, local stores, takeaway outlets, sporting facilities, a swimming pool, and essential services. You’ll become part of a close-knit team while playing an important role in ensuring the consistent supply and distribution of goods throughout the community.

Casual Role During Probationary Period
- $36.81 per hour Monday–Friday
- Penalty rates applicable
- Overtime paid on all hours worked over 38 hours per week
- Free shared accommodation during probation, including your own room
- Electricity contribution of approximately $40 per week
- Travel assistance provided from Darwin return
Opportunity for Permanent Salary Position
Successful completion of the probationary period will provide the opportunity to move into a salaried position, with a salary offered in the range of $70,000–$75,000 per annum, depending on experience and suitability.
Private accommodation will be available upon successful completion of probation.
About the Role
This is a hands-on warehouse and stores position responsible for coordinating incoming deliveries, managing stock storage, supporting stock replenishment, and ensuring the warehouse and stores areas remain organised, safe, and efficient.
You will work closely with the Store Manager and other members of the team, playing an important role in maintaining inventory flow, warehouse organisation, workplace safety, and the efficient supply of goods throughout the retail operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect weekly deliveries from the barge landing using truck and forklift equipment
- Receive, unload, check, and store incoming stock
- Manage warehouse and storage areas
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment
- Coordinate stock movement and replenishment throughout the store
- Assist with stock control and inventory management
- Support and assist a small team with stock management and store duties
- Monitor and top up fuel supplies for fuel bowsers (full training provided)
- Assist with retail and store duties as required
- Ensure stock is accurately received, stored, and distributed
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times
- Assist the Store Manager with day-to-day operational requirements
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, stores, stock control, retail, or similar role
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Good written and verbal English communication skills
- Current MR Driver’s Licence (or ability to obtain prior to commencement)
- Current Forklift Licence (or ability to obtain prior to commencement)
- Retail or supermarket experience highly regarded
- Reliable, practical, and willing to be hands-on
- Ability to work as part of a small team
- Commitment to a minimum 12-month term
- Comfortable living and working in a remote community environment
