🍻 VENUE MANAGER – REGIONAL QUEENSLAND
💰 $95,000 – $105,000 + Super | 🏡 Free Offsite 1-Bedroom Unit
Lead a much-loved hotel and take ownership of a diverse, multi-outlet operation in Regional Queensland.
We’re looking for an experienced, commercially minded Venue Manager with strong hotel operations, financial management, team leadership, gaming and compliance skills to take the reins of this established and highly regarded regional venue.
With multiple bars, a bistro, gaming lounge, drive-through bottleshop and accommodation, this is a substantial hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who can confidently balance people, performance, customer experience and commercial results — while becoming a visible and valued part of the local community.

With a team of approximately 40 staff, the venue offers plenty of scope for an experienced manager to make a real impact across operations, team culture, business performance and future growth.

👔 WHAT YOU’LL BRING
We’re looking for a confident hospitality professional who combines strong operational leadership with commercial nous.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Proven experience in hotel or hospitality management, with strong knowledge across accommodation and venue operations.
- Strong commercial and financial management skills, with the ability to control costs, analyse performance and identify opportunities to increase profitability.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach and develop a diverse team.
- A customer-first mindset and excellent communication, relationship-building and conflict-resolution skills.
- Confidence making sound decisions while balancing commercial opportunities, compliance, risk and operational requirements.
- Experience across gaming, TAB, Keno, POS, CCTV and AV operations.
- Strong knowledge of RSA, RSG, responsible gaming, WHS and food safety requirements.
- A genuine interest in building relationships with the local community, customers, suppliers and key stakeholders.
- Hospitality qualifications such as a Diploma of Hospitality Management or Certificate IV in Hospitality would be advantageous.
🎯 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As Venue Manager, you’ll have ownership across the full operation, including:
- Leading all aspects of day-to-day hotel and venue operations.
- Maintaining consistently high standards of service, presentation, safety and compliance.
- Recruiting, training, coaching and developing team members.
- Managing rosters, labour costs, performance and employment matters.
- Overseeing gaming operations and ensuring responsible gaming practices are embedded throughout the venue.
- Managing stock, cash, operating expenses and capital expenditure against financial targets.
- Monitoring key performance indicators including revenue, margins, gaming results, accommodation occupancy, wages and stock turnover.
- Identifying and implementing new revenue streams and business development opportunities.
- Developing promotions, marketing initiatives and opportunities to increase customer engagement and repeat visitation.
- Building strong relationships with customers, community organisations, suppliers, government agencies and other stakeholders.
- Monitoring competitor activity and market trends to identify opportunities and maintain the venue’s competitive position.
- Ensuring the hotel, grounds, facilities and back-of-house areas are maintained to a high standard.
- Supporting entertainment, events and live music operations, including coordination, noise management and stakeholder communication.
- Creating a positive, inclusive and accountable workplace culture where people, safety and customer experience come first.

You’ll be a hands-on, visible and commercially focused leader who enjoys being involved in the operation rather than managing from behind a desk.
You’ll be comfortable taking ownership, making decisions and solving problems, while bringing a genuine ability to lead people, build relationships and drive performance.
Most importantly, you’ll understand that a successful regional venue is about more than numbers — it’s about people, community, reputation and delivering an experience that keeps customers coming back.

- QLD RMLV & Approved Manager’s Licence
- QLD RSA & RSG
- Gaming Nomination & CLO Certification
- Relevant gaming and customer liaison training
- Hospitality qualifications highly regarded
