Experienced Duty Manager | Busy Coastal Hotel | $80,000 + Super | Accommodation Provided
Are you an experienced Duty Manager or senior hospitality professional with strong pub operations, gaming and team leadership skills? Join a popular coastal hotel in North Queensland, where you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of a busy, high-volume venue overlooking the water.
With a strong local following, live entertainment and a diverse range of hospitality services, this is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on hospitality leader who enjoys variety and a fast-paced environment.
The hotel operates 7 days a week and includes a busy bar, bistro, bottleshop, gaming facilities and live entertainment, offering plenty of variety across every shift.
💰 THE PACKAGE
- $80,000 + Super
- Onsite accommodation provided
- Single room with shared facilities
🍻 THE ROLE
As Duty Manager, you’ll be an integral part of the hotel’s leadership team, overseeing daily operations, supporting staff and ensuring guests receive an exceptional experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising day-to-day shifts and venue operations
- Leading, supervising, training and mentoring staff
- Working hands-on across all areas of the venue
- Overseeing gaming operations, including Pokies, TAB and Keno
- Ensuring gaming compliance and managing payouts
- Opening and closing the venue
- Daily cash handling, balancing and cash-ups
- Completing general administration duties
- Maintaining high standards of customer service and presentation
- Supporting the wider management team as required
- Assisting with the smooth and efficient operation of the venue
👤 ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for a confident, capable and hands-on hospitality leader who knows how to keep a busy pub running smoothly and can lead a team by example.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Previous Duty Manager, Supervisor or senior pub management experience
- Strong experience across food & beverage, gaming and retail operations
- Solid knowledge of general hotel and pub operations
- Previous experience supervising, training and mentoring staff
- Experience with TAB, Keno and gaming compliance
- Strong cash-handling and reconciliation skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A calm, practical approach in a busy environment
- Current driver’s licence and own vehicle, as accommodation is offsite
- Current QLD RMLV & Approved Managers, or the ability to obtain
- Current Police Clearance, or the ability to obtain
- A positive, reliable and team-focused attitude
