$85,000 + Superannuation + Shared Accommodation | Immediate Start
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced, hands-on hospitality manager to join a well-established and iconic venue in Longreach, Outback Queensland. This role is ideal for a confident hospitality professional with strong pub, bar and food & beverage experience, who can lead shifts, support a team and take responsibility for the smooth running of a busy venue.
Located in the heart of Outback Queensland, this popular venue welcomes a mix of locals and travellers, with live music, events, family-friendly dining, bar and gaming operations creating a varied and fast-paced hospitality environment.
The Role
Working closely with the Venue Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management and operation of the venue.
This is a genuinely hands-on position. You’ll be visible on the floor, leading by example, supporting your team and ensuring customers receive a high standard of service.
You’ll be comfortable running shifts independently, making decisions on the floor and stepping into additional management responsibilities when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Venue Manager with the daily operation of the hotel
- Lead and manage shifts in a hands-on capacity
- Work across bar, bistro and gaming operations
- Supervise, support and mentor team members
- Maintain high standards of customer service and venue presentation
- Assist with cash handling, reconciliations and daily operational procedures
- Support stock control, ordering and rostering
- Assist with gaming operations and compliance requirements
- Manage customer and staff enquiries professionally
- Resolve operational issues as they arise
- Step into the Venue Manager’s responsibilities when required
- Contribute to a positive, welcoming and community-focused venue culture
About You
We’re looking for someone who is confident, capable and genuinely enjoys being hands-on in hospitality.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a hospitality supervisory or management role
- Strong experience within a pub, tavern, hotel or similar venue
- Solid bar and food & beverage operational knowledge
- The ability to confidently lead a team and run shifts independently
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organisation and time-management abilities
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to day-to-day operations
- The confidence to step up and take responsibility when required
- Gaming experience, which would be highly regarded
Licences & Qualifications
Current Queensland:
- CLO
- RSA
- RSG
- RMLV
- Approved Managers Licence
are required.
