Duty Manager – Regional Southwest Queensland
$77,000–$80,000 + Super + Subsidised Accommodation
Are you an experienced Duty Manager with strong pub operations knowledge, confident leadership skills and hands-on experience across gaming, bar, bistro and retail? This is an opportunity to join a welcoming regional hotel in Southwest Queensland, set in a scenic riverside town known for its close-knit community, relaxed country lifestyle and genuine outback hospitality.
We’re seeking a practical, customer-focused Duty Manager who thrives in a varied role and can confidently oversee daily operations, lead and support staff, manage gaming compliance and keep service running smoothly across all areas of the venue.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading by example and taking ownership of each shift in a friendly, community-focused hotel.
The Package
- $77,000–$80,000 salary, plus superannuation, negotiable based on experience
- Subsidised accommodation in shared staff housing
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily shift operations, ensuring the smooth running of the hotel
- Supervise, train and support team members to maintain high service standards
- Work hands-on across all areas of the property, including bar, bistro, gaming and retail
- Manage gaming operations, including pokies, TAB, Keno payouts and associated compliance requirements
- Complete daily cash handling, till balancing, cash-ups and general administration
- Carry out opening and closing procedures
- Deliver friendly, professional customer service and help create a welcoming atmosphere for locals and visitors
- Ensure venue procedures, responsible service requirements and operational standards are consistently followed
- Assist with other duties as required to support the smooth operation of the hotel
What We’re Looking For
- Previous Duty Manager or supervisory experience within a pub, hotel or similar hospitality venue
- Strong working knowledge of all aspects of pub operations, including food and beverage, gaming and retail
- Experience supervising staff, coordinating shifts and maintaining service standards
- Confidence handling cash, balancing tills and completing daily administration
- A hands-on approach, strong work ethic and the ability to lead by example
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Current RSA, RSG, CLO, RMLV and Queensland Approved Manager qualifications, or the ability to obtain the required qualifications before commencement
- Current police clearance, or the ability to obtain one
