Assistant Manager-Remote Western Australia

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager for this busy roadhouse property located in regional Western Australia.

This is a very hands on role and you will be working hands on across all aspects of the business whilst assisting the Site Manager in overseeing the day to day management of the site, employees and different departments.

This role would suit a candidate with previous remote area management experience who enjoys regional living.

The town offers local facilities including a local bank, post office, pub, supermarket, gym and pool.

The Role:

As directed by Site Manager to assist and manage the entire site.

  • In accordance with the instructions and procedures of the company as advised, amended or introduced from time to time.
  • Comprehensive management is inclusive of a hands on role as appropriate.
  • Compliance with all relevant laws, legislation and regulations.

Package:

  • $70,000 – $75,000 salary
  • Accommodation & Meals Provided (Hotel Room)

General Duties:

  • Manage employees, employee levels and issues ensuring the site is staffed with the best available employees operating in accordance with company standards and maximise productivity.
  • Apply the General principles of planning, organising, leading by example, directing, delegating, controlling and communicating appropriate to the circumstances.
  • Ensure exemplary customers service from all staff with direction and leading by example.
  • Select, cost, purchase, price, display and sell appropriate souvenirs and other merchandise in accordance with customer requirements and to ensure turnover at reasonable margins and profitability.
  • Oversee the management of the motel to increase occupancy levels, maximize room rates, restaurant covers and result in repeat business and word of mouth sales.
  • Maintain the site (building, equipment and furnishings) in a state of cleanliness and obvious appeal.
  • Ensure the observation of all health and safety procedures and relevant practices at all time, in line with Duty of Care for Employees, Customers, Guests and all others.
  • Manage the kitchen operations to ensure excellence in food preparation, presentation and service, meeting customer requirements.
    Oversee food costs, wastage, portion control and compliance with food safety.
  • Hold a valid Approved Managers Certificate.
    Ensure compliance with Liquor licensing requirements and Duty of Care responsibilities.
  • Maintain the site and processes in the appropriate ways to emphasise security and minimize all potential risks.
  • Monitor fuel pricing and order fuel at times to ensure sufficient supply of fuel offered to the traveling public.
  • Undertake other work and special assignments as directed.

Other:
Candidate will be required to obtain a WA Approved Managers License
Hold a current police clearance 
Be seeking a minimum 12 month commitment 
Telstra mobile coverage available
