Chef – Outback Queensland
An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced Chef to join a busy, owner-operated hotel in Outback Queensland.
Located within a welcoming regional community and surrounded by classic Queensland landscapes, this venue is known for its friendly atmosphere, loyal local trade and supportive team culture, with approximately 10 staff living and working onsite together.
This role is best suited to a capable and independent chef with strong grill and steak experience who is comfortable working both within a team and autonomously during quieter service periods.
The kitchen operates at a fast pace, so candidates must be confident managing service, maintaining consistency and working efficiently under pressure. With accommodation and meals included, this is also an excellent opportunity to save money while gaining valuable regional hospitality experience.
📅 Minimum Commitment: 6 Months

- Full-Time Role
- Salary: $74,600 per annum

✨ THE ROLE
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting the Senior Chef with busy dinner service
- Running lunch service independently with kitchen hand support
- Preparing and cooking high-quality meals for service
- Working across grill and steak sections
- Assisting with stock organisation and deliveries
- Maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen, cold rooms and work areas
- Supporting the wider kitchen team as required
- Following food safety and kitchen procedures at all times
✨ ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen
- Strong grill and steak cooking skills (essential)
- Ability to work independently and manage shifts unsupervised
- A reliable and hard-working attitude
- Strong time management and teamwork skills
- Previous remote or regional hospitality experience highly regarded
