Are you an experienced hospitality leader with a strong background in busy bars, bistros or hotels? We are seeking a hands-on Duty Manager to join a well-established multi-outlet venue in Kalgoorlie, Regional Western Australia. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading from the front, delivering exceptional customer service and thriving in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
This venue features hotel accommodation, a lively bar & bistro, TAB and a large restaurant, catering to both locals and visitors. Renowned for its high standards of service, the venue regularly hosts functions and events, making no two days the same.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the venue, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while supporting, coaching and motivating the team across multiple departments.
This is a genuinely hands-on management role where you’ll be actively involved in operations while helping drive the business forward.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and support team members across the venue
- Oversee the daily operation of the bar, bistro, sports bar and reception
- Ensure smooth shift operations, including coordinating staff breaks
- Train and brief team members on new products, promotions and procedures
- Assist with implementing and driving promotional activities
- Resolve guest and operational issues professionally and efficiently
- Deliver exceptional customer service by leading through example
- Work closely with the kitchen and floor teams to ensure a seamless guest experience
- Assist with front office duties including guest check-in/check-out, reservations and inquiries
- Support the General Manager with the overall operation of the venue
- Complete additional operational duties as required
About You
We’re looking for an enthusiastic hospitality professional who enjoys working with people and has the confidence to lead a team in a busy venue.
You will ideally have:
- Previous Duty Manager, Bar Manager or Bistro Management experience
- Experience working in a high-volume hospitality environment
- Strong knowledge of wine, beer and spirits
- Previous front office or hotel reception experience (highly regarded)
- An understanding of labour management and operating costs
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays
- A current WA Approved Manager’s Certificate
