About the Role
Reporting to the Hotel Manager and Assistant Manager, you will take responsibility for the smooth operation of the venue during evenings and whenever senior management are off-site. This is a genuine hands-on management role where you’ll lead by example while ensuring exceptional customer service and compliance across all departments.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing hotel operations during evening shifts
- Working across the bar, restaurant and front-of-house as required
- Supervising, mentoring and training staff
- Managing gaming operations, including TAB, Keno and poker machine compliance and payouts
- Checking in hotel guests and managing after-hours reservations using Guestpoint
- Completing end-of-day cash reconciliations and till balancing
- Cash handling and venue close procedures
- Ensuring Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and gaming compliance
- Maintaining a safe environment for guests and staff
- Coordinating kitchen cleaning schedules, food safety records, inspections and labelling alongside the Head Chef
- Ordering bar stock and liaising with suppliers and representatives
- Managing stock rotation, cool room organisation and promotional stock
- Completing weekly and monthly stocktakes
- Managing and maintaining the venue’s wine list
- Organising social events, including pool competitions and sporting activities
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Current Queensland RSA and RSG certificates
- Previous Duty Manager, supervisory or hospitality management experience
- The ability to remain calm and organised in a busy environment
- Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A flexible attitude towards rotating rosters
- A current driver’s licence (preferred)
- Experience with TAB, Keno and gaming operations (highly regarded)
- Experience using SWIFTPOS (desirable)
- Previous experience living and working in a remote location (advantageous)
