🌴 FRONT OFFICE RECEPTIONIST | TROPICAL FAR NORTH QUEENSLAND 📍
Tropical Far North Queensland | 🚨 Immediate Start | 🏡 Staff Accommodation + Evening Meal
We’re looking for an experienced Front Office Receptionist to join a busy hospitality property in Tropical Far North Queensland. This role is suited to a confident, polished hospitality professional with previous front office experience, strong Guestpoint or similar PMS skills, excellent customer service and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced reception environment.
You’ll be an important part of the guest experience, managing everything from check-ins and check-outs to reservations, guest enquiries and problem-solving, while ensuring the Front Office operates smoothly and professionally.
💼 THE ROLE
This is a hands-on position where no two days are quite the same. Your responsibilities will include:
- Check-in and check-out using Guestpoint
- Managing guest enquiries and day-to-day Front Office operations
- Taking reservations and confidently converting enquiries into bookings
- Opening and closing Reception
- Balancing daily EFTPOS and cash payments
- Handling guest concerns, complaints and feedback professionally
- General office and administration duties
- Answering a very busy PABX
- Working independently and confidently when unattended
- Assisting across other areas of the property when required, including Housekeeping, Bar and Restaurant
- Supporting the wider team with other duties as required
⭐ ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Previous Front Office / Reception experience
- Experience using Guestpoint or a similar hotel PMS
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Excellent time management
- A professional presentation and confident manner
- The ability to remain calm and solution-focused when dealing with guests
- Confidence working independently and making decisions when required
- Flexibility to assist other departments when needed
Split shifts may be required, so flexibility with working hours is essential.
💰 PAY & CONDITIONS
Casual Role | HIGA Level 3
- Monday–Friday: $34.96 per hour
- Saturday: $41.96 per hour
- Sunday: $48.95 per hour
🏡 ACCOMMODATION & BENEFITS
- Own private room
- Shared bathroom
- Accommodation: $78 per week
- Evening meal provided daily
- Staff kitchen available onsite
- Telstra mobile and internet coverage
- Qantas flights available daily from Cairns
🍽️ ABOUT THE PROPERTY
This is a busy, well-established property with a public bar, restaurant, gaming facilities and detached bottleshop, supported by a team of staff living and working onsite.
You’ll be working alongside an experienced management structure including day and night Duty Managers, Restaurant Manager, Front Office Manager and General Manager, providing a supportive team environment while still giving you the opportunity to take ownership of your role.
