About the Role As Head Chef, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple kitchens, balancing hands-on service with strategic leadership and team development. From high-volume buffet production and crib lunches to à la carte dining and the launch of a brand-new steakhouse venue, every day offers something different.
Working closely with senior management, you’ll have the opportunity to influence menus, streamline kitchen operations, mentor your team, and contribute to the continued growth of the business.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead kitchen operations across multiple hospitality venues
- Prepare and oversee buffet service, à la carte dining, and crib lunches
- Assist with the development and opening of a new food outlet
- Manage food ordering, stock control, and kitchen costs
- Lead, roster, mentor, and develop a team of 12–15 chefs, cooks, and kitchen hands
- Plan and develop menus that deliver quality and consistency
- Maintain exceptional food presentation and service standards
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and WHS legislation
- Identify opportunities to improve kitchen systems and operational efficiencies
About You
You’ll be a proactive leader who enjoys building strong teams, maintaining high culinary standards, and delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced environment.
To be successful, you’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Head Chef within a high-volume catering or hospitality operation
- Proven leadership experience managing large kitchen teams
- Strong organisational, communication, and financial management skills
- Experience in workforce accommodation, mining camps, or multi-site operations (highly regarded)
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain before commencement)
- A genuine commitment to a long-term regional opportunity
