Kitchen Hand / Housekeeper – Outback Queensland
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Kitchen Hand / Housekeeper to join a busy, owner-operated hotel in Outback Queensland. Set within a welcoming regional community, this venue offers a supportive team environment where approximately 10 staff live and work onsite together, creating a friendly and social atmosphere.
This is not an entry-level hospitality role. We are seeking someone with previous experience in a fast-paced kitchen or similar high-volume hospitality environment who understands the demands of busy service periods and can confidently keep up under pressure. The role offers excellent variety, with duties across the kitchen, housekeeping and occasionally other areas of the venue, making it ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on hospitality work and being part of a close-knit team.
📅 Commencing: Early June 2026
📌 Preferred Commitment: Minimum 6 Months
✨ PACKAGE & BENEFITS
- Monday–Friday: $33.38 per hour
- Saturday: $40.05 per hour
- Sunday: $46.73 per hour

✨ THE ROLE
This is a highly active and fast-paced role working across multiple areas of the venue.
Duties include:
- General kitchen hand duties including dishwashing and cleaning
- Assisting chefs with food preparation and basic cooking
- Plating meals during service
- Running meals to customers
- Assisting with running the kitchen pass
- Supporting catering and function orders
- Assisting with housekeeping duties as required
- Occasional work within the bottle shop or bar area
- Supporting the wider team with general operational duties
✨ ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a fast-paced kitchen or similar hospitality venue
- Basic cooking skills highly regarded
- A strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Flexibility and willingness to assist across different areas of the business
- Current RSA certificate
- Previous remote or regional hospitality experience highly regarded
