Are you a hands-on, practical person with maintenance experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently? An exciting opportunity is available in Coastal Far North Queensland for a reliable Maintenance / Yardie / All Rounder to join a busy hospitality operation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their day, takes pride in keeping facilities and grounds well maintained, and is comfortable turning their hand to everything from basic repairs and landscaping to stock handling and general property upkeep.
Located in one of Australia’s most picturesque tropical regions, this role offers the chance to work within an established hospitality venue while enjoying a relaxed coastal lifestyle. The property features a busy public bar, restaurant, gaming facilities, and detached bottleshop, supported by a professional management team and a friendly onsite workforce of 20–30 staff.

Casual Role – HIGA Level 3
Pay Rates
- Monday to Friday: $32.25 per hour
- Saturday: $38.70 per hour
- Sunday: $45.15 per hour
Accommodation & Meals
- Accommodation: $78 per week
- Own room with shared bathroom (donga-style accommodation)
- Evening meal provided daily
- Staff kitchen available onsite
The Role
This is a diverse, hands-on position requiring someone who can work autonomously, manage their workload effectively, and assist across a variety of maintenance and operational tasks.
Duties & Responsibilities
- General building maintenance including painting, plastering, changing light bulbs, basic plumbing, lock changes, and troubleshooting air-conditioning units
- General groundskeeping and landscaping
- Loading and unloading stock deliveries
- Restocking fridges and shelves
- Cleaning and maintaining drive-in areas
- General yard and property maintenance
- Setting up promotional and stock displays
- Assisting with other operational duties as required
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous maintenance, groundskeeping, trade assistant, yard hand, or similar experience preferred
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and practical mindset
- Ability to complete paperwork accurately
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling and heavy lifting
- Stable employment history
- Current driver’s licence essential
- Forklift licence highly regarded
