Chef – Remote Northern Territory
Bring your strong bistro cooking skills, ability to work independently, and confidence running service to a unique hospitality venue in Remote Northern Territory. This hands-on role is ideal for an experienced chef who enjoys small-team environments, takes pride in producing quality meals, and is comfortable stepping up to lead the kitchen when required.
Set amongst the rugged landscapes of Australia’s Top End, this venue welcomes travellers exploring one of the country’s most remarkable natural and cultural regions. The property features guest accommodation, a caravan park, and a popular bistro restaurant, with local shopping facilities and a golf course nearby.
Immediate Start
Package
- $80,000 per annum
- Free accommodation (shared bathroom facilities)
- Dinner provided daily
- Excellent opportunity to reduce living expenses and save money
The kitchen team typically consists of 2–3 staff members, with dinner service operating seven days per week. You’ll work closely with supportive management in a friendly and collaborative environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook quality bistro-style meals and daily blackboard specials
- Deliver consistent food quality and presentation standards
- Run kitchen service and oversee operations on the Head Chef’s days off
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and WHS requirements
- Assist with stock control, preparation, and general kitchen duties
- Undertake cleaning and other duties as required
To Be Successful You Will Have
- Previous experience in a similar chef position
- Strong bistro and à la carte cooking skills
- The ability to work efficiently in a small team environment
- Confidence managing service periods independently
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- A positive attitude and willingness to contribute wherever needed
